At Wethos, we’re always on the lookout for ways to serve you better and improve our services. After taking into account all of our users' feedback and suggestions, we knew it was time for an upgrade. This is why we are excited to announce upcoming changes to our payment services at Wethos. Starting April 16th, we are introducing our new invoice payment features and will be discontinuing the Wethos Payments Account services on May 14th, 2024.
This article will help you understand how these changes will affect your Wethos account and what new payment-accepting features we are introducing.
What's Changing?
As of May 14, 2024, we will be phasing out the current Wethos Payments Accounts. While we are sad to see this feature go, we are streamlining our services to offer you more versatile payment options for your invoices.
What Does This Mean for You?
Your Wethos Payments Account, which allows you to accept payments directly through your invoices, will no longer be available after May 14th. This includes features such as transaction tracking, debit cards, and account and routing numbers. You will also notice that your payments tab will no longer be available on the navigation menu. But don’t worry, as mentioned, we are making these changes in order to provide you with a more flexible approach to accepting payments for your invoices.
We know this update may require some short-term adjustments to how you’re using our platform, but we’re here to make sure this is a smooth transition that won’t disrupt your business or your payments on invoices.
Introducing New Payment Acceptance Features
Starting April 16th, you'll have access to new payment-accepting features:
Direct payment links to all your favorite payment platforms.
Ability to include your personal bank information for direct deposits or wire transfers.
Details on how clients can pay you via check.
While your invoices will still generally look the same, there is one key change. The payment options that you enable will be directly attached to your invoices.
You will have full control over what options to include in each invoice and can toggle each payment method on and off as you wish in each invoice from your invoice builder.
Once your client clicks on the drop-down menu of a payment option, they will see any details you have included or the direct link to your payments page to submit a payment for your invoice.
You can start preparing for the full phase-out of the Wethos Payments Account and set up your new payment information directly through your account settings. Check out our step-by-step guide on how to get your account ready for this update in our detailed Help Center article HERE.
How to Prepare for These Changes
You can continue using your Wethos Payments Account for accepting payments until May 14th. However, please note that after this date, all Wethos Payments Accounts will be closed, and you will no longer be able to conduct transactions or transfers through your Wethos account. If you have any funds in your account, a physical check will be mailed to you to the address on file which you can expect in approximately 30 to 60 days after closure. We recommend withdrawing all funds and downloading any necessary statements before May 14th to ensure a smooth transition.
Important Note: If you activate the new payment options, please be aware that you will no longer be able to accept payments through the Wethos Payments Account, only through the payment options you activate. Should you choose to activate the new options, you will still be able to see your Wethos Payments Account history, withdraw any funds, and download any statements until May 14th.
It is essential that you evaluate your options and make the necessary adjustments before this date.
